Orange Score vs. RSI
RSI and Orange Score can both appear as numbers, but they are designed to answer different questions.
What RSI measures
The Relative Strength Index is a momentum oscillator based on the magnitude of recent gains and losses. Traders often use it to describe whether momentum has become unusually strong or weak over a chosen window.
What Orange Score measures
The Orange Score is intended as a broader market-health summary. It combines condition normality, trend quality, expected price stability and recent resilience, while keeping scenario disagreement as a separate confidence diagnostic.
Why they can disagree
A stock can have a high RSI after a fast rally while other measures show rising instability. Conversely, RSI can look weak during a pullback even while broader market-health conditions remain relatively orderly.
Use the right tool for the question
RSI is useful when the question is about recent momentum. A health score is useful when the question is broader: “How healthy and stable do this stock’s current conditions look?” Neither should be treated as a guaranteed buy or sell signal.
